Ama Citation Generator: privacy notice
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This notice covers the Ama Citation Generator Chrome extension. It adds detail to our common privacy policy, which explains who we are, legal bases, retention and your rights.
Stored on your device
- Your saved citations, settings and plan status are kept in Chrome storage on your device.
How features process your content
- When you look up a source, the extension sends the identifier you entered (PubMed ID, DOI, ISBN or URL) to the matching public service: PubMed (eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov), CrossRef (api.crossref.org), DOI resolvers (doi.org) or Google Books (googleapis.com). It sends nothing else about you.
- If you ask it to cite the page you are reading, it reads that tab’s address and title.
